The art of weaving is wide-spread in the villages where the Mayan people live. In order to create more work opportunities and contribute to the fact that an out-standing craft gets a chance to survive, a collaboration between Afroart and students at Konstfack in Stockholm was developed. The result was a series of very striped textiles, Mira Maya. Today, the great-looking stripes are one of Afroart's signatures. |
