Bògòlanfini, Bogolan, or Mud Cloth, is a handmade cotton fabric traditionally painted with mud from the river Niger in Mali.
The handwoven cotton cloths are soaked in a dye bath consisting of mashed and boiled leaves of the N’gallama tree. After the cloth has sundried it is painted with a special mud, collected from river beds of Niger. A chemical reaction between the leaves and the mud makes the mud colour resistent.
Innercushion is sold separately.
