Sisal is a strong, durable material that grows well in Kenya’s harsh climate. No pesticides or chemical fertilisers are needed to grow sisal. The artisans dye the sisal fibres and then roll the fibres into yarn by hand, using their knees, before weaving them into the baskets. Fair Trade.
